Creating a tool instance

You need admin permissions for the space to add equipment.

A tool defines equipment and its training requirements. A tool instance is an individual unit in a space. For example, “Epilog Fusion Pro 32” is a tool, and “Epilog Fusion Pro 32 #1” is a tool instance.

  1. Sign in to Pinpoint using UMD CAS and open Adminland.

  2. Select your space and open Tool instances.

  3. Select the plus (+) action.

  4. Enter the Tool instance name, choose its Tool, and select a Tool category.

  5. Select Create tool instance. A confirmation appears and Pinpoint returns to the instance list.
